To the End of Lake Champlain

A beautiful cruise today to the end of Lake Champlain. It became narrower and narrower until we rounded "The Elbow" and there was Lock 12 at Whitehall, NY. This means goodbye to Vermont. I will dearly miss Vermont. I might even vote for Bernie Sanders!

Once docked we walked the town and as most of these towns are, it is depressed. But we did find an interesting museum, after all this is the birthplace of the U.S. Navy, and also a nice place to have an espresso and a scone. Once back at Carrie Rose I outfitted her with 9 fenders for our 60 mile trip through the locks of the Champlain Canal. This area is dripping with history. Type Lake Champlain naval battles in the Great Google and read all about it!

Leaving Chipman Point Marina behind

Never ending weed removal

The track is almost in the lake

A surprise around every corner

Hungry and alert osprey children

A nice grouping with Lock 12 in the background

Lots of Amish

A nice spot for an espresso in town
